Horses are similar to humans in their social and responsive behaviour. Being with the horses in nature supports people build self-awareness and discuss feelings, patterns and behaviours. This can provide social, emotional, cognitive and behavioural benefits such as self-regulation of emotions, reduced anxiety and increased wellbeing. Horses live in a state embodied awareness and provide authentic, unconditional contact.
Lake farm therapy is fully certified by the Equine Psychotherapy Institute and offers private and group sessions tailored to individual needs.
At Lake farm you will be supported by Imogen, Larry & Copper. Imogen is an Equine Psychotherapy Institute trained and certified
equine assisted psychotherapy practitioner. Big Larry & little Copper will co-facilitate your session. You may also be joined by Maci, Tarzi and Benny the vizslas with an offering of unconditional acceptance.
Located on a 16 acre farm on the Mornington Peninsula, sessions are conducted in the beautiful natural environment. Flocks of black cockatoo nest in the banksia lined driveway, ducks and frogs thrive in the lake and the native gardens support a myriad of other wildlife. Lake farm is easily accessed & approximately one hour from central Melbourne.
